“We had a very memorable holiday in a beautiful house!” Tatham family, England
” Perfect holiday! Such fun to be back. I had forgotten how relaxing it is. Fantastic vista for just sitting out.” Mclure-Fisher family, England
“Three generations of our family have just had one of the best-ever holidays at La Foun.” Gillian C, England
“We’ve had a fabulous holiday in this lovely place.” Roscoe family, USA
“A simply fabulous fortnight – glorious weather with temperatures ranging from 27-37c. Did the usual activities such as canoeing down the Dordogne, but also recommend the tree-top climbing at La Capelle-Biron. Loved the local wildlife – roe deer in the fields, barn owls in the roof, golden oriole in the trees and a black redstart nesting in the garage. All in all a perfect holiday.” Ambler family, Scotland
“We’ve had a fabulous time in this lovely location, enjoying the views, peace and wildlife. My pingpong has improved and we’re all as brown as berries!” Lewis family, England
“There was always plenty to do – both for the more energetic and for those who just wanted to relax. One member of the family elected to cycle the 75km Circuit Bastide Royale, passing through most of the local Bastide towns; another wondered why anyone who could sit on the terrace at la Foun with a book would need to go anywhere else! The rest of us were happy to swim; visit Villereal, Montpazier, Beaumont, some nearby chateaux and a vineyard; sketch by the lake; go for a pre-breakfast run; play boules or chess; talk to the cats or simply enjoy the peace. The house itself is comfortable, spacious and very well-equipped and we did appreciate the way it has been brought up to date without losing its essential character. We are all now returned to our normal routines but I think each of us, from 6 to 76 years old, will carry many happy memories of La Foun for years to come.” Gillian C (UK).
“We stayed for a week in August at La Foun and had a wonderful time. The house is as advertised with a good functional kitchen, a big common room and 4 nice sized bedrooms. There were 10 of us including a baby and there was sufficient baby gear available which was very helpful. The communication leading to our stay was easy and checking in and out was also no problem. The kids loved the pool. We all enjoyed the outside covered patio right off the kitchen. The area is very rural and its about 10 minute drive to the nearest town. We found the bastide town Villereal to be the closest and it had a very nice market square and boulangerie where we got our daily croissant and pain au chocolat fix! The three local bastide towns offer market days and the owner left a list of where those were. There are vineyards on the road to Bergerac with the closest about a 15 minute drive.
We had a very enjoyable week and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded house in the Dordogne region.” Jeffrey Q (USA)
